BATANGAS CITY - A virtual discussion organized by the City Social Welfare & Development Office (CSWDO) recently gathered about 100 members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI), including child development workers (CDW) and other women's sectors in the city.
Dra Lalaine Burog, Medical Specialist III of Batangas Medical Center, discussed Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) with the participants during the discussion.
She taught her students about its symptoms and what to do if they develop it after the age of 50.
Precilla Maullion, a social worker, provided an update on the programs implemented by CSWD for Solo Parents and discussed the benefits contained in Republic Act 8972, also known as the Solo Parent Act.
Daycare worker Avelina Villegas shared more information about the CSWD programs and services for persons deprived of liberty (PDL) under the Social Services for Families of PDL and Yakap Bayan- Drug Surrendered.
Mila Espanola, CSWD Officer, emphasized the importance of women not only in their families but also in the development of the community.
