LUCENA CITY - The Lucena PNP recently led a successful Disaster Preparedness and Management Training in the city of Lucena, in collaboration with the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, headed by its Supervising Head Francia Malabanan, and in coordination with LDRRMO and other concerned offices, Sangguniang Barangays, KKDAT, and ABKD officers.
During the three days of the activity, about one hundred participants, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams or BPATs from various barangays in the city and other force multipliers and selected PWUDs, underwent discussions and training.
The activity focuses on disaster preparedness such as the Basic Incident Command System, Water Search and Rescue, as well as Swift Water Rescue which is facilitated by LDRRMO and BFP Lucena.
According to the leadership, it is important to provide BPATs and force multipliers with proper knowledge and training in these types of training so that they can respond immediately to unexpected disasters and calamities.
They say they are in the first line of defense, so it is necessary that they have sufficient skills in the rescue operation.
The Lucena PNP added that the implementation of this type of training only shows that they give high priority to the survival of the Lucenahin in any tragedy.
Meanwhile, the facilitators of the said training hope that the knowledge of those who participated in it when it comes to disaster preparedness has been truly enriched and that he will be their partner when their services are needed. (with reports from PIO Lucena/Josa Cruzat)
