SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna - As part of the Integrated Sustainable Assistance Recovery and Advancement (ISARA) Program Convergence government initiative, more than 150 beneficiaries from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon received assistance and projects from various government agencies.
Secretary Ramon Lopez of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and officials and representatives from other agencies led the distribution of aid at the Santa Rosa City Sports Complex.
ISARA convergence aims to inform the public about the accomplishments of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's administration during its six years in office.
According to Regional Director Jann Roby, Orteo of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), who is also the designated lead convenor of the program, ISARA convergence is also promoting the continuation of government programs and projects at the end of President Duterte's term.
Some of the benefits distributed at ISARA convergence are livelihood grants from the DTI, fuel subsidy from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for transport groups, houses and lots from the National Housing Authority for those affected by past disasters, and financial assistance under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The Department of Agriculture (DA) IV-A also distributed agricultural inputs to the beneficiary farmers.
Agencies that have delivered their services also include the regional line agencies of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Education (DepEd), and Department of Communications and Information Technology (DICT), Department of Health (DOH). , National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).
In his message, Secretary Lopez was proud of the various economic legacies of President Duterte's administration.
He said the DTI's support to micro, small, and medium enterprises has expanded due to the agency's increased funding.
He said some of the administration's legacies include lowering income tax rates for MSMEs and corporations, signing the Revised Public Service Act, more significant foreign direct investments, increasing employment, and rising export levels.
Lopez added that President Duterte's leadership could be considered an inspiration for the kind of service his cabinet delivers to the public. He said this includes the simplicity of the Secretaries and the immediate delivery of government services so that they can benefit the public.
The Secretary also hopes that government agencies will further strengthen their mandates to continue the country's recovery and help those whose livelihoods have been affected. (with reports from FC, PB, PIA 4A)
