New multi-purpose evacuation center in Imus City completed
Supt Rene V Bullos, PFD, attended the Ceremonial Turn-Over of the Completed Evacuation Center and Memorandum of Agreement Signing held at Palico IV, City of Imus Cavite.

IMUS CITY, Cavite — A new multi-Purpose evacuation center located in Barangay Palico IV, Imus City, was recently completed and formally turned over to the provincial government to provide local government units within the CALABARZON region a permanent structure for evacuation.

The newly-completed structure was made possible in collaboration between the national government agencies, in particular the Office of Civil Defense-CALABARZON, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region IV-A, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV-A, Department of Health (DOH) Region IV-A, National Housing Authority (NHA) Region IV-A, and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IV-A.

According to OCD CALABARZON Regional Director Maria Theresa R. Escolano, the evacuation center is the 8th among the 24 projects that have been turned over to various local government units in the region.

Escolano added that the evacuation center was designed to be a multi-purpose facility that is gender-sensitive, child-friendly, mother-baby-friendly, and equipped with amenities that can accommodate sporting events, livelihood training, and social gatherings to be utilized to the fullest even without disasters and calamities.

Escolano also presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the provincial government of Cavite through Provincial Administrator Alvin S. Mojica and PDRRMO Head Eloisa Rosul for the successful formulation of its Public Service Continuity Plan.

Said plan signifies the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring delivery of public service amidst any disaster.

The Civil Defense regional chief also lauded the remarkable performance of the province of Cavite, having ranked number one in terms of COIVD-19 vaccine doses administered during the Bayanihan Bakunahan and for being awarded beyond compliant during the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Offices assessment under her watch as Regional Director. — Ruel Francisco, PIA Cavite
