CALABARZON police director PBGen. Antonio Yarra identified areas in the region that may become election hotspots as the 2022 election approaches.

According to Yarra, they used a color-coding scheme to identify poll hotspots - this is the Orange category: areas of immediate concern that have a combination of two or more factors; the Yellow category: rebel groups pose a severe armed threat; and the red category: areas of grave concern or with records of violent crime, intense political conflict and armed threats posed by local terrorist groups.

"Though, at the moment, we haven't yet identified areas under the red category, we are continuously working with our AFP counterparts and the Comelec 4-A to determine whether there is no extreme threat in the entire region as the May election is fast approaching," Yarra said.

According to the PNP, Cavite has 5 Yellow places, 2 in Laguna, 12 in Batangas, one in Rizal, and 2 in the province of Quezon.

Meanwhile, the Orange category rose to 2 places in Cavite, 1 in Rizal, and 6 in Quezon.

On the other hand, Yarra assured that the police would be able to keep the peace, order, and safety of all citizens during the upcoming 2022 elections.
