BATANGAS CITY — President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed Republic Act No. 11694, declaring Batangas State University as the National Engineering University.
The law sponsored by House Deputy Speaker Vilma Santos-Recto and all district representatives of Batangas is another milestone for the BatStateU, which has preeminently led in producing the country’s engineers and access to engineering education.
As the National Engineering University, Batangas State University is expected to provide a leadership role to improve engineering education further and facilitate innovations in the field of study.
In a statement, BatStateU says it will further intensify its efforts to produce advanced trained engineers as it plans to expand its degree offerings to include a broader range of fields in engineering for graduate and undergraduate levels.
BatStateU boasts its record of producing over 165 board topnotchers across engineering disciplines since its incorporation in 1903. It has also gained national recognition as a Center of Excellence in Electronics Engineering and Centers of Development in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
BatStateU is a level IV state university with several local and international accreditations and has 11 campuses throughout Batangas Province. — CH, PIA 4A (with reports from BatStateU)
