IMUS, Cavite - "While the fight against the Covid-19 crisis is the city government's top priority, this should not hinder the administration's desire to accomplish other programs and projects aimed at providing for the welfare of the citizens," City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi said on Monday, April 25 at the inauguration of the new government center.
Residents of Imus City can expect much better service from the city government now that its 72 offices are housed under one roof, thanks to the opening of the new Imus City Government Center.
The building, one of Mayor Maliksi's legacy projects, is intended to be an 'Eco-Friendly Green Building' due to green architectural principles such as the solar panels installed to power its lighting and other electrical fixtures. A rainwater harvesting system with tanks can provide water to building occupants for at least four days.
A sewage treatment plant also ensures that water waste is safe and treated before discharge into the sewerage system. In contrast, a material recovery facility contributes to solid waste management and recycling.
All these features aim to lessen its carbon footprint from its daily operations.
The government building is also considered a “Smart Building” because of its computer-based building management and maintenance system.
The system could control all lighting, the alarm system, its elevator system, 500 CCTV surveillance cameras, and other facilities to give access to persons with disabilities.
The 53,761 sqm lot is located at Pedro Reyes St. in Barangay Malagasang I-G, while the Executive Building sits on the 32,871 sqm area near the Ospital ng Imus and Imus Grandstand. (with reports from RBF, PIA Cavite)
