PLARIDEL, Quezon - The national government, through the Office of Civil Defense Calabarzon, has officially turned over the newly-built P34.7 million multi-purpose evacuation center to the local government of Plaridel, Quezon on April 23, 2022.
The evacuation center located in Sitio Libis, Brgy. Tanauan, Plaridel, Quezon, can accommodate 106 families or 530 individuals, complete with a mess hall, kitchen, storage area, playroom, prayer room, breastfeeding rooms, multi-purpose rooms/administration offices, separate male and female toilets, and baths.
OCD Calabarzon Regional Director Maria Theresa Escolano led the turnover ceremony and signing of a memorandum of agreement, together with Plaridel Mayor Bernardo Tumagay.
Also present to witness the turnover of the evacuation center were key officials from the regional offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Department of Health (DOH), and the municipal government of Plaridel.
In pursuant of the Memorandum Circular No. 18 s. 2018, issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the OCD Calabarzon continues to oversee and implement the project of building multi-purpose evacuation centers throughout the region. — CH, PIA4A
