GENERAL LUNA, Quezon - For the first time since 2017, the Municipality of General Luna, Quezon, has received the highest audit rating that state auditors can give to government agencies, incumbent Municipality City Matt Erwin V. Florido announced on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

"Ngayon lamang ito nangyari. Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa kasaysayan ng Bayang May Puso, General Luna, Quezon ay nakuha ang highest audit rating, unmodified opinion." Florido said in a statement on his Facebook account.

The Commission on Audit (COA) issued General Luna an "unmodified" opinion on the financial statements of local government units for the fiscal year 2021.

The unmodified audit opinion is the highest mark or grade given to local governments for their efficient, orderly, and responsible use of funds for government operations and projects.

It also implies that the auditor was satisfied with the submitted financial statements because they met the regulatory requirements and were prepared per accounting principles, criteria, and standards.

It ensures financial report orderliness and compliance with Philippine public sector accounting standards (PPSAS).

Florido stated that receiving the highest audit rating from the COA reflects the town's "honest and clean governance to serving the people of General Luna with integrity and accountability."

"Iniaalay po namin ito sa inyo, mga minamahal kong kababayan. Patuloy nyo pong maaasahan ang matapat, mahusay, matino at may pananagutang pamamahala." he said

Florido was recently proclaimed as the duly elected Municipal Mayor of the said town for 2022-2025.
