SAN MATEO, Rizal — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) opened a new oneSTore National Program Hub in San Mateo, Rizal, in a bid to promote Filipino products to a wider market in the country.
Through the funding support from the DOST Region 2, DOST Calabarzon collaborated with the Estancia De Lorenzo (EDL) to launch the 37th oneSTore National Program Hub in the Philippines last May 28.
DOST Calabarzon Director Emelita P. Bagsit said the project was made possible with the help of DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Engr. Sancho Mabborang who provided the financial and technical support in launching the oneSTore National Program Hub in the region.
“We are happy to have our first oneSTore Hub here in Calabarzon. We want to extend our thanks to former Regional Director of DOST Region 2 and current Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Sancho Mabborang.” said Emelita P. Bagsit, Regional Director of DOST Calabarzon.
Secretary Fortunato de la Peña and Estancia De Lorenzo, Dr. Eulalio Lorenzo also attended the launch to deliver their message of support.
With a goal to provide Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) a platform to better market their products to online customers, the DOST oneSTore aims to promote Filipino-made products by creating an effortless shopping experience and providing retailers with direct access to the largest customer base in the Philippines. — PB (with reports from DOST CALABARZON)
