CALAMBA CITY, Laguna - On June 11 and 12, two large-scale job fairs were held in Laguna province to commemorate the 124th anniversary of the country's independence.

The theme of this year's job fair is “Pagsuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas.”

The Buhayani Job Fair organized by the Calamba City Balik-Kabuhayan Program and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office IV-A will be held in SM City Calamba on June 11, Saturday, in celebration of Independence Day and its 161st birthday by Dr. Jose Rizal.

A total of 13,835 jobs from 45 companies are open for those who want to apply. Production Operators are the most sought-after job fair with 9,110 vacancies. This was followed by warehouseman (363 vacancies), assembly staff (200 vacancies), production worker (180 vacancies), and sewer (150 vacancies).

More than 29 companies with 4,171 vacancies will be expected at the Independence Day Job Fair at Metro Central Mall, Sta. Cruz, Laguna on the coming June 12, Sunday.

The activity was organized by the Laguna Provincial Government and the Provincial Public Employment Service Office in collaboration with DOLE IV-A.

The organizers remind that each applicant is required to wear casual attire and a face mask. Must also bring an updated resume, own ballpen, and valid ID.

In his message, Exequiel Ronie Guzman, DOLE IV-A Regional Director, invited the unemployed to try to apply to the two job fairs to gradually recover from the hardship experienced during the pandemic.

“As the economy gradually opens, we have invited some 50 partner employers to offer their vacancies so that job seeker will have the opportunity to land a job and recover from the impacts of the pandemic,”

Guzman added that no discrimination will be expected from the applicants because they ensure everyone the opportunity to have a decent job.

“This job fair promotes inclusivity as there are vacancies available for persons with disabilities, senior high school graduates, senior citizens, and displaced OFWs.”, Said the director.
