BATANGAS CITY - On May 25, 2022, the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) Batangas officially launched the Provincial Skills Competition at this city's Regional Training Center Calabarzon Building.
According to TESDA Calabarzon Regional Director Toni June Tamayo, the activity is part of their agency's mandate because it evaluates the knowledge and skills shared with each scholar they create.
“Ang kumpetisyon na ito ay taunang ginagawa upang alamin kung ang mga pagsasanay na ibinibigay ng TESDA ay maituturing na world class at maaaring itapat sa mga pagsasanay sa ibang mga bansa. Ang mahihirang sa provincial skills competition ay maaaring lumaban sa regional hanggang sa national at ang mananalo dito ang makikipagkumpitensya sa ibang bansa para sa iba’t ibang kategorya,” said Tamayo.
Welding, graphic design technology, mechanical CAD, IT Network System Administration, Information Network Cabling, IT Software Solutions to the Business, Web Technologies, Cooking, Bakery, Restaurant Service, and Hotel Reception are eight (8) trades to be considered.
The competitions will be held at three venues, including TESDA RTC Calabarzon, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, and the University of Batangas.
TESDA Batangas Provincial Director Gerardo Mercado led the start of the competition, followed by the ceremonial cutting of the competition chain.
Governor Hermilando Mandanas, on behalf of Mr. Merlita Pasatiempo, served as the guest of honor where he expressed his full support for TESDA's aspiration to provide quality training that can be used by the people in their livelihood.
In this regard, the Batangas provincial government also announced an additional cash incentive to the winners and will also provide 20 units of laptop computers for TESDA Batangas. BPDC, PIA Batangas
