BATANGAS CITY - Through the Protected Area Management Office-Taal Volcano Protected Landscape (PAMO-TVPL), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON has ordered the demolition of illegal and abandoned structures along the coast of Brgy. From May 31 to June 6, Gulod and Buso-Buso in Laurel, Batangas.
According to PAMO-TVPL, 63 fish corrals or baklad have been illegally constructed along the lake in the two barangays. He said that they can impede responding in times of danger and can also endanger passing boats.
It is stated in the TVPL Fisheries Order and in PAMB Resolution No. 91, 2021, the permanent ban on the construction and operation of illegal structures throughout Taal Lake.
In the meantime, fish corrals are allowed for six months, from July to December, but they must be removed and dismantled after the given extension. (reports from PIA 4A0
