CAVITE CITY - Incoming Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua wants his city to take an active role in the redevelopment of Corregidor Island.

Chua met with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone on June 7, more than three weeks before his formal inauguration as mayor.



“Isa sa ating plataporma ang aktibong partisipasyon ng Lungsod ng Cavite sa pag redevelop ng Corregidor Island na isa sa mga sikat na tourist destination sa ating bansa,” Chua said.

TIEZA is spearheading the development of the Corregidor Tourism Master Plan, which aims to make tourism sustainable on the island and its surrounding areas, such as Cavite City.



According to the Cavite Provincial Information Office, although Corregidor Island is one of the 14 tourist destinations in the city, fishing is the primary source of livelihood for its residents. - PB, PIA 4A
