TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon - The Department of Agriculture (DA) National Livestock Program plans to construct a Biosecured and Climate Controlled Piggery in Barangay San Francisco in order to revitalize the piggery industry in Tagkawayan.
Mayor Carlo Eleazar, Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Flomella Caguicla, and Bb. Joy Tan of DA-APCO officiated the groundbreaking ceremony as a precursor to the government's planned Biosecured piggery.
The pig farmers' associations in San Francisco are expected to primarily benefit from the P5,500,000 facility.
According to DA Calabarzon, this is part of the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) program that aims to improve the biosecurity protocols of the hog industry in the country. - PB, PIA4A (report from Tagkawayan Teleradyo)
