TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Silang Mayor-Elect Kevin Anarna recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a digital bank to promote financial inclusion through digital financial technology in the said municipality.
Few weeks before his assumption, Anarna sealed a partnership with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Asia’s Money’s Best Digital Bank for the next two years consecutive years to bring DiskarTech App ng Masa to his constituents.
Anarna says the advocacy of RCBC is to promote financial inclusion through its “Madiskarteng Pilipino #KasamAsenso” campaign which is very timely and relevant as a way to help Silanguenos keep up with modernization especially in the use of digital financial technology.
He adds that this partnership will greatly help the local government of Silang to digitalize financial transactions to ensure transparency in governance, thus, eradicating corruption which is the top priority in his first term’s development agenda.
“Ensuring that corruption is not tolerated during my administration will enable our local government to allocate better financial resources to programs that will truly make a positive impact in the lives of Silanguenos,” Mayor Anarna said.
RCBC EVP and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva expressed his gratitude to Mayor-elect Anarna for his valuable support to DiskarTech’s advocacy as he stressed his strong commitment to help Silanguenos to have access to basic financial services such as savings, payments and credit which he believed can help uplift their economic condition.
“Our desire is to help educate Silanguenos on the significance of digital financial technology and help them on board into the formal financial system so that we can truly translate our advocacy on financial inclusion into action,” Villanueva said.
Present also during the symbolic signing are Silang newly-elected officials - Vice Mayor Ted Carranza, Councillors Ari Velazco, Cokiat Garcia, Ivan Amuta, and RCBC Digital Enterprise and Innovation Group Senior Relationship Manager for Public Sector Alda Lou Cabrera.
