General Mariano Alvarez LGU promotes family planning program





GMA, Cavite - General Mariano Alvarez's town government is promoting family planning in their community.

According to Mayor Maricel Echevarria Torres, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) led the family planning activity from July 6 to 8.



The said activity aims to provide proper knowledge to women in their town about contraceptives and family planning.

GMA RHU will also have an information drive on teenage pregnancy prevention.



It will be recalled that the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has declared intended teenage pregnancy as an ‘unseen crisis’ worldwide.

One of the reasons for this is poor family planning and lack of access to reproductive health services in the country. - PB, PIA4A (with report from GMA LGU)
