ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal (PIA)-- Rizal is recognized as the country's Overall Most Competitive province for six consecutive years at the 2021 Cities & Municipalities Competitiveness Index Awarding Ceremony this June 28.
The Department of Trade and Industry conducted the awarding ceremony at the Rizal Provincial Capitol, Antipolo City to laud high performing local government units.
Aside from the provincial government, city and municipal LGUS were also given due recognition and plaques at the awarding led by DTI Competitiveness Bureau Director IV Lilian Salonga, DTI Competitiveness Bureau Director III Jo-Dann Darong, DTI 4A OIC Regional Director Marissa Argente and DTI Rizal Provincial Director Desiderio Jurado III.
Rankings for cities and municipalities are based in the scores in the four pillars identified by the DTI Competitiveness Bureau namely Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and, Resiliency.
Antipolo City won as the 2nd Overall Most Competitive component city award as well as the 3rd Most Competitive in Economic Dynamism, 2nd Most Competitive in Government Efficiency and 2nd Most Competitive in Infrastructure.
Rizal towns also dominated the top awards in the 1st to 2nd class municipality category.
Cainta won 1st Overall Competitive, 1st in Economic Dynamism, 1st in Government Efficiency and 3rd in Infrastructure. San Mateo won 3rd Overall Most competitive and 1st Most Competitive in Resiliency while Taytay won 2nd in Economic Dynamism, 2nd in Infrastructure and 3rd in Resiliency.
