SANTA CRUZ, Laguna - Governor Ramil Hernandez and the Laguna Medical Center-HIV and AIDS Core Team accepted the United States Agency for International Development's "QUILTS Award" for Quality Uptake and Improvements in Lifesaving Treatment Services (USAID).
The first HIV Treatment Hub in Region 3, NCR, and CALABARZON, is located at Laguna Medical Center. The facility is also a Certified rVIVda Confirmatory Laboratory. It performs Rapid HIV confirmatory testing, eliminating the need for the patient's blood sample to be sent to another hospital and processed immediately at the LMC, earning the hospital the Treatment and Care, Early Adopter Award.
The facility was implemented per Department of Health-Administrative Order No. 2019-0001 or Guidelines on implementing Rapid HIV Diagnostic Algorithm (rHIVda).
According to the Laguna Provincial Information Office, the reorganization of the administration of Gov. Hernandez in such responsibility and the implementation of other health programs in the province. (report from Laguna Provincial Information Office)
