BATANGAS CITY - The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) held its 15th commencement exercise on July 29 at the Batangas City Coliseum, graduating 183 city government scholars, two of whom were cum laude.
Rishel Mendoza earned a Bachelor of Elementary Education, and Juvielyn Lacdao obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Mendoza shared her experiences as a working student and the obstacles she overcame to graduate in her farewell address.
“Sa CLB, may katuparan ang pangarap,”said Rishel.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to former Mayor Eduardo Dimacuha, who established CLB to provide underprivileged but deserving students in the city with the opportunity to complete their studies.
The commencement speaker was Dr. Rene Colocar, the President of Marikina Polytechnic College and the Association of Local Colleges and Universities – Phils.
According to him, such graduation is just the beginning of a new chapter in the graduate's life.
He emphasized that the victory and milestones reached by the graduates were due to their parents.
He also challenged them as the first batch of K-12 graduates to use what they have learned to succeed in life.
CLB College Administrator Dr. Lorna Gappi performed the awarding of certificates to the graduates.
The said school also awarded Academic and Non-academic awards. Lacdao led the pledge of loyalty.
Congressman Marvey Mariño participated in the said occasion as the representative of Mayor Beverley Dimacuha.
