BATANGAS CITY — Up to 70 corn farmers from the towns of Agoncillo and San Nicolas received fuel discount cards from the Department of Agriculture Region 4-A (DA 4-A) recently.
This fuel discount card is part of the government's Fuel Discount Program for Farmers and Fisherfolk, which aims to help corn farmers and fishermen, who are among the first to be impacted by rising petroleum prices.
Each discount card contains P3,000 in value to use at participating gas stations.
According to DA 4-A, the priority of this program is for legitimate corn farmers and fishermen registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
In addition, they also have evidence of owning and using agricultural or fishing machinery.
