SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — The newly elected mayor of San Pedro now wants to make the city's internet connection more accessible and faster.

Mayor Art Mercado recently met with internet companies SMART and PLDT to discuss measures to improve internet speed in San Pedro City, which will benefit students.



He also discussed methods for identifying city areas with limited internet access.

Mercado also announced a plan to fiberize internet connections in San Pedro, which is one of the prerequisites for becoming a "Smart City."



According to Mercado, it will focus on implementing measures to improve and speed up the internet connection in their city.

“Marami na tayong nakakausap na mga tao at grupo na gustong tumulong upang maisakatuparan ang ating mga plano. Konting pasensya lang po. Mauuna na tayo,” Mrecado said.



Meanwhile, the city government also received 50 units of LTE pocket wifi from Smart and PLDT to be distributed to students who remain in the online class setup. — PIA LAGUNA
