TRECE MARTIRES CITY — Cavite First District Representative Jolo Revilla believes Labor and Employment (DOLE) will approve Cavite workers' proposed increasing wages before the end of the year.
Revilla recently met with Bienvenido Laguesma, Secretary of DOLE, to discuss government programs for regional workers. Among the topics discussed were the wages of Cavite workers.
According to Revilla, low wages in the region are a significant burden for workers. He added that although the minimum wage raised was divided into two tranches.
The legislator is confident that raising the wages of workers in the region is possible. According to Revilla, Laguesma assured the agency would study the proposal because of the province's proximity to the NCR.
Currently, there are 29 industrial parks in the province. It provides additional income to the local government and employment to the residents of Calabarzon and its neighboring areas.
