SANTA CRUZ, Laguna — Governor Ramil Hernandez and representatives from the Santa Cruz City Government signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a Rice Processing Center on 1,000 square meters of town-owned land.
The goal of the center is to properly process the farmers' rice through proper drying, resulting in an increase in its value due to the good type or quality of the rice.
The MOA signing was part of the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the Field Agricultural Extension Services-Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (FAES-OPAg).
Some of the office's anniversary activities include the swearing-in of 11 officers of the Agricultural Association in the province, recognition of 30 retired staff in gratitude for their services, and the launch of an orchidarium, herbs & spices Garden, Provincial Agricultural Processing Center, and others.
