BATANGAS CITY — The Tingga-Pinamucan Bypass Road was formally opened to the public on July 22 after a soft opening.
The city's Foundation Day celebration is more historic this year, according to 5th District Rep. Marvey Mario, because of the opening of such an access road.
He stated that it would significantly help alleviate the heavy traffic flow in the said areas and provide more development to the city.
The Batangas city government jointly sponsored such a project, the office of the 5th District Representative and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
In this regard, Marino expressed his gratitude to Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha for allocating funds to acquire the right of way while the bypass road construction came from DPWH funds.
“Ginagawa ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya upang makahanap ng pondo para sa tuloy tuloy na konstruksyon ng bypass road. Kung magkakaroon ng sapat na budget, plano po na ituloy ito hanggang barangay Simlong o Ilijan,” said Cong. Mariño.
Meanwhile, Mayor Dimacuha reminded drivers, cyclists, and others passing by to be careful because there are no traffic lights and warning signs along this stretch.
He also emphasized the need for discipline on the road to prevent accidents and preserve the said access road.
They were toured by Cong. Mariño and Mayor Dimacuha on the bypass road on their bicycles with some city councilors and some bicycle enthusiasts in the city of Batangas. — (with report from PIO Batangas City)
