CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The Calamba city government now intends to strengthen its anti-illegal drug campaign, which, according to Mayor Ross Rizal, is at the root of many crimes and social problems.

The mayor highlighted this plan during a recent Calamba City Peace and Order Council meeting, which also laid out the city's security programs.

The meeting also laid out a plan to assist former users in starting new lives.

The mayor also wants to dismantle illegal gambling, which often leads to the corruption of some officials.

The plans discussed in the meeting also include increasing police visibility in the city.
