ANTIPOLO, Rizal – According to the OCTA research agency, the positivity rate, or the number of people in Rizal province who tested positive for COVID-19 disease, increased to 17.4%, and the province's transmission rate is still rising, the attack rate remained low at 3.73.
Dr. Guido David, an OCTA Research Group associate, revealed on Twitter that the figure had increased by 5.4 percentage points to 12 percent.
"The increase in positivity rate indicates that the spike is not due to backlog," he said.
The attack rate in epidemiology is the percentage of an at-risk population that contracts a disease during a specified time interval.
Guido reported that the figure was higher than the previous peak of 203 cases during the latest wave.
"The healthcare utilization rate for COVID-19 was moderate at 50.8 percent while the intensive care unit occupancy was low at 5 percent," Guido said.
