BATANGAS CITY - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently promoted the World Cafe of Opportunities in conjunction with its 28th founding anniversary and National Tech-Voc Day (WCO).
The goal of the WCO, according to RTC CALABARZON Administrator Dorie Gutierrez, is to provide Technical Vocational Educators Association (TVET) graduates with job opportunities while also assisting companies in finding qualified employees.
WCO is also an opportunity to match the skills needed or jobs that fit the qualifications of the applicants.
He emphasized that the number of hired on the spots (HOTS) was high in the previous WCOs, which is why many had jobs.
There are 7750 job vacancies from various companies and industries (local and abroad) waiting for TVET graduates, its alumni, and walk-in job seekers to participate.
Aside from employment opportunities and skills training/upgrading, TVET graduates also process their pre-employment requirements with SSS, PAGIBIG, NBI, and Philhealth on the said occasion.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provided consultancy services to those who want to set up their own business, while there was also a skills demonstration in Agroentrepreneurship, Bartending, Welding, and others.The declaration of the official opening of the WCO was performed by TESDA Batangas Provincial Director Gerardo Mercado Batangas Provincial TVET is a partner of TESDA in WCO.
