VICTORIA, Laguna — The Sangguniang Bayan ng Victoria recently approved cash incentives for honor degree graduates and board and bar topnotchers who are Victoria residents.

Stated in Municipal Ordinance No. 89, s.2022 or the Academic Excellence Cash Incentive and Recognition Ordinance is the provision of a cash incentive and resolution from the Sangguniang Bayan in recognition of those who have achieved high honors.



Summa Cum Laude will receive P10,000; P7,000 for Magna Cum Laude; and P5,000 to Cum Laude graduates.

Additionally, Board and Bar topnotchers will also receive P10,000.



According to Councilor John Patrick Cambe, SK Federation President of Victoria and author of the ordinance, he considered submitting the proposal to recognize the contribution and important role of young people in society, as well as to recognize the talent of graduates.

“Layunin ng Academic Excellence Cash Incentive and Recognition Ordinance ay bigyan ng inspirasyon at hikayatin ang ating mga college students na mag-aral mabuti para sa kanilang sarili, pamilya, at bayan.”, added Cambe.



The full implementation of the ordinance will be next year, so those graduating this year will first receive a resolution from the Sangguniang Bayan. The plan is also to have a formal program or Gawad Parangal that will be held every Duck Festival. — Christopher Hedreyda, PIA4A
