NAIC, Cavite - President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the National Housing Authority (NHA) turned over 30,000 houses and lot units built in the town of Naic, Cavite, to qualified beneficiaries on December 5.
The NHA awarded housing projects to informal settlers (ISFs) impacted by the Supreme Court Mandamus to rehabilitate Manila Bay. ISFs are Filipinos who live in dangerous areas and families who have been benefited by government infrastructure projects.
Marcos and NHA General Manager Joeben Tai personally handed over Certificates of Eligibility for Lot Awards (CELA) to five families representing the 3,000 beneficiaries in Naic, Cavite.
Concurrently, houses and lots of units were awarded at NHA project sites in the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The grand awarding of NHA's house and lot certificates fulfills Tai's promise to the President to build better and more houses for Filipinos who do not own their own homes. The housing agency has also committed to constructing 1.3 million housing units.
Transfer of Certificate Titles (TCTs) were distributed to seven members of the Brotherhood in Bukidnon, and units were awarded to 24 former rebels, in collaboration with the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity.
Tai said that they are also working to establish relationships with other government agencies and the private sector to provide more livelihood opportunities to all housing beneficiaries.
