LUCENA CITY - It is crucial to have knowledge and awareness regarding simple responses to sudden disasters or accidents that may occur.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) recently conducted Basic Life Support (BLS) training in Lucena City, Quezon, led by Dr. Melchor Avenilla Jr., to raise disaster safety awareness.
Basic Life Support Training covers the fundamentals for participants seeking initial or renewal certification.
Throughout the two-day training on December 13-14, the PDRRMC Trainers/Officers applied everything they had learned to save lives for the attendees.
Participants learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, apply chest compressions, and use AEDs.
Meanwhile, Building Emergency Evacuation Marshall (BEEM) President Rowell Wewit Casio discussed the organization’s recent successes.
At the end of the program, the attendees signed a Pledge of Commitment, promising to fulfill their BEEM membership.
