BATANGAS - This year, the city government has allocated aside P68 million for scholarship allowances for high school and college students in the city.
Mayor Beverley Dimacuha made the announcement on Wednesday during a short program on allowance distribution in the covered court of barangay Kumintang Ibaba on January 24.
She encouraged the Eto Batangueño Disiplinado (EBD) scholars to continue their studies and to return to their home countries to share what they had learned with the people.
Allowances were given to 452 students in Kumintang Ibaba and 391 students in Sta. Rita Karsada. They come from various barangays in Solid North.
The Mayor's Action Center (MAC) staff spearheaded the distribution of the allowance.

It is supervised by City Environment & Natural Resources Office (City ENRO) personnel.
JG Summit Corporation seedlings such as kamogo, toog, narra, phil teak, and dungon are among those being planted.
