TERESA, Rizal - Several registered vegetable and fruit vendors in Teresa's town market received P10,000 cash assistance in Teresa, Rizal.
According to the local government, the activity was part of the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Program (PPG).
The DTI-PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program with priorities on individuals or families of microenterprises in areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities including armed conflicts and health disasters like epidemics and pandemics, and avails of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa Program to establish or relocate an enterprise.
The program aims to provide them with a source of income to support their families. The PPG program also aims to help small businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, such as sari-sari stores, parlors, and others.
This initiative intends to help microenterprises of families/ individuals affected by fire incidents and other calamities to restart their economic activities, and also provide livelihood opportunities for identified beneficiaries in areas considered as priorities of the national government such as Killed in Action/Wounded in Action (KIA/WIA) and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
