BARAS, Rizal - Despite national government support, the health-care system here has faced numerous challenges over the years.
In this light, the municipal government here held a Municipal Health Summit with the theme "Malusog na Mamamayan, Maunlad na Pamayanan" on Friday, February 17, 2023,
The event spearheaded by the municipal government of Baras, led by Mayor Wilfredo Robles, Vice Mayor Kathrine Robles, and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and attended by residents of this town.
Dra. Allen Malabanan, head of the Municipal Health Office, aimed to provide residents with more knowledge about correct and proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle, and access to free specialty consultation, as well as to identify the challenges faced by the health sector in their town.
In addition, discussions have taken place regarding actions that will aid in their healthcare delivery system and the benefits to the people.
It said during the summit, the town government offered various medical services such as OB-GYN Specialty Consultation, Chest X-ray, 2D Echo, ultrasound, blood chemistry test, eye check-ups, and free glasses to the citizens who attended and participated.
There was also a dental check-up, tooth extraction, and free medicines for pediatrics and adults.
