PAGSANJAN, Laguna - The Laguna Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the municipal government headed by Mayor Cesar Areza have vowed to implement programs and initiatives to support the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) here.
In the meeting held recently, DTI Laguna OIC Provincial Director Christian Ted Tungohan said this includes revising the Investment Code of Pagsanjan to attract more business investors to the town.
MSMEs are encouraged to participate in the March Trade Fair in conjunction with the Banker Festival and MSME Week in July.
According to DTI Laguna, some of the programs it offers for MSMEs include encouraging entrepreneurs to submit the Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) Certificate of Authority so they can receive the corresponding benefits, such as income tax exemption.
"DTI Laguna will help the Pagsanjan Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office to build a Pasalubong Center inside the CLA Mall here," Tungohan said.
DTI Laguna added they planned to donate 500 square meters to build an office in Brgy. Biñan to effectively carry out the coordination of the town government for MSMEs.
