LIPA CITY - "The goal of these artistic endeavors is to recognize our very own local artist from Lipa City in the field of creative expression."
Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa emphasized this during his speech at the opening of the city’s celebration of the National Arts Month at the Cultural Center of Lipa recently.
In celebration of National Arts Month, the Lipa City Government and Sihay (Lipa Artists) kicked off the month-long celebration on February 12 with a visual art exhibit titled "Bunga ng Lipeño Galing," which featured the works of (15) Lipeño Artists and four (4) Guest Artvocacy Artists.
“This is to celebrate artistic excellence and pay tribute to the uniqueness and diversity of the Filipino heritage and culture,” the mayor said.
The said exhibit is open to the public and will remain until February 28.
Every February, the Philippines observes National Arts Month. This month's events and activities are designed to highlight Filipino artistic ability and provide opportunities for artists to showcase their work.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts is the government agency in charge of overseeing National Arts Month events (NCCA).
Under the theme "Ani ng Sining, Bunga ng Galing," the NCCA is leading the celebration of National Arts Month in February and March with a variety of exciting in-person and online activities.
The theme's goal is to expose Filipinos to a diverse range of cultural expressions while also celebrating the abundant harvest of Filipino creativity.
