SAN MATEO, Rizal - A Solid Waste Management Capacity Building was held at the JFD Stadium on January 31, 2023, with the theme "Ang Basura ay kayang Gawing Zero, Basta Pursigido tayo, San Mateo!" for employees of the Sanitary Office, Solid Waste Management Office, and representatives of various barangays.
Elaine De Jesus, head of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources (MENRO), who led the program, staid they are working together to create a vibrant and green San Mateo.
Her partner was Marlon Pielago, who worked in the Teresa Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office and shared his knowledge of solid waste management.
The goal of the activity is to teach the staff of our government and barangays how to properly implement the Republic Act 9003 Ecological Solid Waste Management Act and to assist in the planning of programs that will focus on proper waste management in the town.
"We will continue to research the development of programs that will benefit our environment," De Jesus said.
