PILILLA, Rizal - Department of Labor and Employment IV-A (DOLE-CALABARZON) through its DOLE-Rizal Provincial Office distributed more than PHP 1.69M assistance to 360 informal sector workers under the TUPAD Program, March 17.

Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program is one of the key programs of the Department to provide emergency employment to seasonal, underemployed, and displaced workers in the country. In this undertaking, the beneficiaries are expected to render at least 10 days of service in the community and could be extended up to 90 days depending on the nature of work they were assigned to do.

In this batch of beneficiaries, they received PHP 4,700.00 as payment for their 10-day community service. This amount is based on the highest prevailing minimum wage in the region. TUPAD beneficiaries from nine barangays of Pililla were tasked to declog canals, and maintain the cleanliness of public schools and roadsides in the municipality.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Chairperson of Senate Committee on Labor, Employment, and Human Resources Development, paid visit during the payout of salaries.

In his message, Sen. Estrada said that he plans to personally visit the communities in the country to deliver aid to the Filipinos.

He also pledged to allocate more projects to the municipality.

Atty. Ma. Karina B. Perida-Trayvilla, DOLE CALABARZON Regional Director took the chance to extend her gratitude to the senator leading the approval of budget for DOLE.

"Allow me at this point to thank the honorable senator dahil naipasa po ang budget ng Department of Labor and Employment.

Atty. Trayvilla reiterated to the beneficiaries that TUPAD is only one of the programs of the Department. She encouraged the beneficiaries to explore and avail other programs of the Department like the DOLE Intergrated Livelihood Program, Government Internship Program and Special Program of the Employment of Students.

Pililla Mayor Dan V. Masinsin, Councilor Bobet Vidanes, Public Employment Service Office Manager Ruth Patapat, and Brgy. Imatong Chairman Eduardo Matulin are also present to witness the said event. (DOLE-RPO )
