ANTIPOLO CITY, RIZAL — At least 961 beneficiaries are set to receive employment assistance from the government under the ‘Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers’ of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
This, after the DOLE Rizal Provincial Office partnered with the Office of the Rizal Fourth District Representative and Montalban municipal government for the cash-for-work program implementation.
In an orientation held Wednesday, DOLE, through Rizal Provincial OIC Engr. Joseph Gacosta and Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Victoria Natanauan discussed the details and responsibilities of the identified beneficiaries.
TUPAD is one of the government’s flagship cash-for-work programs targeting displaced and disadvantaged informal sector workers on a community level as a form of job generation.
The short-term employment program requires beneficiaries to undergo ten days of community work, such as cleaning public spaces, government establishments, parks, and schools, among others.
Upon completion, workers shall receive a total of Php4,700.00 at a rate of Php470.00 per day based on the highest prevailing minimum wage in the region.
It was also emphasized during the meeting that beneficiaries are not obliged to give any portion of their salaries to anybody in exchange for their inclusion in the TUPAD program. (GG/PIA-Rizal with reports from Charmaine Baisa/DOLE Rizal)
