CALAMBA CITY — A tripartite agreement was signed to expedite the release of data and fast-track the completion of the South Long Haul Project or the North-South Commuter Railway that will connect Calamba City in Laguna to Daraga, Albay.
The agreement aims to facilitate the expeditious release of data ranging from land records, particularly technical descriptions, approved plans, lot data computations, subdivision plans, certificate of no records, cadastral maps, lot gaps, and other related documents. It was signed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON, Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Philippine National Railways (PNR).
“We welcome the collaboration because it will help the mobility and transport of people and basic commodities,” DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Nilo Tamoria said in a statement.
PNR Assistant Secretary for Railways Jorjette B. Aquino said that the state railway values the partnership established between the government agencies as they continually aim for the swift facilitation of the requirements from DENR.
Under the Parcellary Survey Package 1 of the SLHP, the DOTr and PNR are expected to construct 380.38 kilometers of the railway system, comprising 22 stations traversing Laguna and Quezon Provinces in CALABARZON from Calamba City, Laguna to Daraga, Albay.
Present during the MOA signing were DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Cesar Chavez, DENR IV-A Regional Executive Director Nilo Tamoria, DENR IV-A Regional Director for Technical Services Jose Elmer Bascos, PNR General Manager Jeremy Regino, and DOTr Assistant Secretary for Railways Jorjette Aquino.
The said partnership takes effect immediately and will be implemented for three years. (CH with reports from DENR CALABARZON)
