ANGONO, Rizal - President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated this year's Tofil Awardees 2022 at the Malacaang Palace, including a sculptor and painter of Angono, Rizal.
Nemesio Miranda Jr., a sculptor and painter, was a champion for the visual arts and sculpture because he participated in more than 100 local and international art shows.
The Outstanding Filipino, or Tofil, Awards honor outstanding Filipinos who have made huge impacts in their fields and made the country proud.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos said this year's Tofil awardees show how important it is to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding people in different fields.
In his speech, President Marcos Jr. praised the awardees for their work in their fields and for showing the resilient and creative spirit of the Filipino people.
President Marcos Jr. thanked the awardees for what they had done for the arts and culture of the country and told them to keep inspiring new generations of Filipino artists.
The other awardees are Laureate awardee for Business and Resilience Hans Sy, chairman of the Executive Committee of the SM Group; Maria Catalina Estamo Cabral for government and public service; Dr. Persida Rueda-Acosta for law and justice; and Dr. Ruben Villareal for agricultural science.
