PEREZ, Quezon - "A determined and passionate soul, touching the hearts of the community of Perez, Quezon," representing the new generation of young female leaders, is how Mayor Charizze Escalona, was described. She has nothing but the highest hopes for the people in her municipality as well as the community that is so dear to her heart.
Escalona is the Municipal Mayor of Perez Quezon, and despite being one of the province's youngest public officials, she is committed to bringing positive change and development to her community through the implementation of community-benefiting programs and projects.
Her focus on medical missions was also being carried out in her town as one of the programs she sought. She believes that improving her constituents' health and well-being is critical to achieving overall progress and prosperity. She hopes that by participating in these medical missions, she will be able to meet the healthcare needs of those who cannot afford it and promote a healthier community.
“I am committed to addressing the issues and needs of the people who are a part of my constituency,” she said.
She believes that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right and aspires to improve the lives of those who are underserved. She intends to continue her work in medical missions and healthcare reform advocacy.
“The Medical Mission provided free medical consultations and medicines to the residents of Perez, Quezon, which is a great help to those who cannot afford to pay for medical services. ” Escalona said.
In order to alleviate financial hardships and improve their quality of life, the local government also provides financial assistance to 12 DSWD "Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations" (AICS) program beneficiaries. The AICS program is designed to provide immediate assistance to individuals and families in crisis as a result of unexpected events such as natural disasters, fires, or medical emergencies.
Perez is a coastal town with prominent hills and upland areas covering Barangays Pambuhan, Mainit Norte, and Sangirin. It has irregular coastlines with rugged surfaces and beaches.
Inland water bodies consist of rivers, creeks, and springs. Most notable are Sangirin river, Mainit River, Pinagtubigan Weste River, Pinagsibangan River, Caguisi River and Mayanti Creek
She said that the town has seen a significant increase in tourism under her leadership, with new attractions and events being introduced each year. Mayor Escalona is a beloved figure in the community because of her dedication to both her constituents and the growth of the city's economy.
She is known for her dedication and commitment to serving her constituents, particularly in promoting education and livelihood programs to uplift the lives of the people in her municipality.
Escalona's leadership style reflects her genuine concern for the welfare of her constituents. She is an inspiration to young leaders who aspire to make a positive impact in their communities.
