GUMACA, Quezon - Mutual benefits and contributions to the progress of both communities, strengthening the towns' relationship, and promoting cultural exchange are said to be the factors for the sisterhood agreement, which will allow the two towns to collaborate on more projects.
Mayor Webster Letargo of the Municipality of Gumaca in the province of Quezon and Mayor Rhett Angara of the Municipality of Baler in the province of Aurora recently signed an agreement that affirmed the two communities' harmonious relationship and cooperation.
According to the Webster Letargo, this will strengthen the two LGUs' friendship and establish a good communication relationship to facilitate the exchange of information, technology, development planning policies, health service delivery, safety, the environment, tourism, and other important aspects of local governance and self-sufficiency.
He also said the sisterhood agreement will pave the way for cultural and economic exchanges, as well as the exchange of best governance and community development practices. This collaboration will also allow the people of Gumaca and Baler to learn from each other's rich cultural heritage and traditions.
The sisterhood agreement is expected to strengthen the two municipalities' relationship and promote mutual understanding and respect among their citizens. It will also promote collaboration in addressing common challenges and achieving shared sustainable development goals.
Furthermore, by encouraging trade and investment between the two municipalities, this collaboration will promote economic growth, resulting in job creation and income generation for the locals. This will eventually benefit both Gumaca and Baler's overall development.
The two towns also shared best practices that can benefit the other side, such as disaster preparedness or unexpected events.
The exchange of knowledge and experiences between two towns can also promote cultural understanding and foster a stronger sense of community. This collaboration has the potential to lead to future collaborations that benefit both towns economically and socially.
Gumaca is grateful for the confirmation from the municipality of Baler, and they look forward to the beginning of a deeper and better relationship between the two that will benefit every citizen in achieving the desired peace, well-being, and development.
