"Pasayahan Village" to open in Lucena

LUCENA CITY - During the month of May, residents of this and the nearby provinces eagerly anticipate the beginning of a stunning and significant transformation that will take place in the city of Lucena.

In an interview with Lucena City Tourism Officer Arween Flores on Arnel Avila's Pag-Usapan Natin program recently, he happily announced to the public that all the activities carried out every May will be moved to the Pasayahan Festival.

He said, the usual activities will be held at the Lucena City Government Complex behind the convention center, where it will be called "Pasayahan Village."

The Pasayahan Village is a highly anticipated event that features various activities such as street dancing, food fairs, and concerts that showcase the rich culture and traditions of the city. This event attracts thousands of visitors every year and is considered one of the biggest festivals in southern Luzon.

It is a much-awaited event that showcases the culture and tradition of the locals through various activities such as street dancing, food fairs, and parades. This event aims to promote tourism in the city and boost its economy.

Flores also mentioned that the Pasayahan Festival will showcase not only the city's culture and tradition but also its progress and development through various exhibits and displays.

He said that this is where the carnival rides, tiangge, and other events will be placed whenever such an occasion comes, except for Flores de Mayo and the Grand Parade.

Flores, on the other hand, explained several reasons why the executive committee of Pasayahan decided to hold such a celebration in a wide area.

Moreover, the committee believes that expanding the celebration to a wider area will attract more tourists and boost the local economy. They also hope that this move will address the issues of overcrowding and sanitation in the tiangges."

The official said that this is a big challenge for them because they know that there will be feedback from the citizens regarding the changes they will make, such as Pasayahan Village being far from the poblacion.

However, they are committed to finding a solution that will benefit both the vendors and the community as a whole. They plan to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and address any concerns that may arise.

Flores assured that action is being taken such as requesting transportation or flights to the new venue.

Furthermore, Flores mentioned that they are coordinating with local authorities to ensure the safety and security of the attendees during the event. Additionally, they are working on providing adequate food and water supplies for everyone.

Finally, the City Tourism Officer also happily shared that the 7-day celebration of the Pasayahan Festival will be doubled this year, and he said the tiangge and carnival rides will last more than a month.
