CANDELARIA, Quezon - As part of its efforts to protect the welfare of all youth, the Quezon Police Provincial Office recently conducted an outreach and advocacy program for the students of Masalukot 3 Elementary School, Sitio Ilaya Masalukot 3, in Candelaria.
The children were taught simple methods to avoid crime by Pcol. Maricel Schmidt, Chief, Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Division, and PMAJ. Elizabeth Capistrano, Chief PCADU.
The program also aimed to raise awareness on the importance of reporting any suspicious activities and seeking help from authorities when necessary. The Quezon Police Provincial Office hopes to continue conducting similar programs to educate and empower more young individuals in their community.
According to the National Police, the number of abused children is high, especially women, so even parents are encouraged to keep a close eye on their children.
The Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Division also conducts seminars and workshops to educate the public on how to recognize and report cases of abuse. It is important for everyone to be vigilant and take action to protect the vulnerable members of our society.
