CATANAUAN, Quezon - The project, which aims to educate students about responsible online behavior and provide them with skills to protect themselves from cyber threats, was held in two schools here.
Project Click was led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in collaboration with the local government unit and the Department of Education (DepEd).
The project includes workshops, seminars, and interactive activities to teach students about cyber safety and digital citizenship.
As part of the initiative, students from San Isidro Elementary School and Tuhian Elementary School in Catanauan, Quezon, received cyber hygiene training.
This is part of the agency's implementation of Project Click, or Courses for Literacy on the Internet and Computer Knowledge, which aims to teach students about online safety and all aspects related to the welfare of children in digital spaces, such as social media and online search engines.
Also through the project, DICT distributed 30 tablets each to two schools and taught the students to use them responsibly and efficiently.
Catanauan Mayor Ramon A. Orfanel said the project is also part of the government's efforts to promote digital literacy and equip students with the necessary skills to navigate the digital world. It also emphasizes the importance of responsible online behavior and encourages students to become responsible digital citizens.
DICT believes that teaching young people how to use digital devices correctly will strengthen the country's participation in the global digital economy.
DICT also launched Project Click to address the learning gaps among Filipinos in terms of digital skills and students' learning loss or loss of knowledge as a result of the pandemic's prolonged disruption to education.
