ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - Labor Day is today, May 1, and the DOLE Region 4-A Labor Day Mega Job Fair, which is being held at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City, Rizal, is brimming with job seekers. The fair will run until three o'clock in the afternoon.
Over 100 companies from various industries are participating in the job fair, offering thousands of job openings to interested applicants. Job seekers are advised to bring multiple copies of their resumes and dress appropriately for on-site interviews.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 4-A has issued an official statement indicating that the massive job fair with the theme "Affordable Housing, Benefits of Stable Work for the Filipino Worker" will host more than 6,000 job openings for interested applicants.
As part of the festivities commemorating Labor Day, various job fairs are also being held in the following locations in Calabarzon: the Batangas City Sports Coliseum; the Calaca Gymnasium in Calaca City, Batangas; the Pacita Astrodome in San Pedro City, Laguna; IMall Famy in Laguna; the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City; and, SM City Rosario in Cavite.
The job fair aims to provide opportunities for job seekers to find stable employment and free housing, both of which are critical to improving Filipino workers' quality of life. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to address the country's unemployment and underemployment.
The "Kadiwa ng Pangulo para sa Manggagawa", which will have 31 exhibitors and bring goods that are available to job seekers at affordable prices, will also be a part of the job fair, according to the agency. The people who benefit from the DOLE's Region 4-A's various programs will also receive assistance.
There are a number of government agencies, including the PSA, DTI, DICT, TESDA, and PAGIBIG, that run their very own versions of the caravan. The Calabarzon Department of Labor and Employment, the governments of Rizal Province, Antipolo City, and the Antipolo Public Employment Service Office are all working together to put on the aforementioned job fair at the Ynares Center.
