STA CRUZ, Laguna - The Heneral Agueda Kahabagan/Nature Award (Outstanding Citizen of Santa Cruz) was presented at a ceremony at the Cultural Center in Santa Cruz in support of the Provincial Government of Laguna, led by Governor Ramil Hernandez, in the 19th Keso Puti Festival celebration.

The Keso Puti Festival is a significant event that showcases the dairy industry in Laguna and promotes the local economy. The Heneral Agueda Kahabagan/Nature Award recognizes the contributions of outstanding citizens in Santa Cruz towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Santa Cruz local government unit, under the leadership of Mayor Edgar San Luis, along with councilors and officials, honored the board passers in the fields of education, engineering, medicine, law, and others. The same goes for the fifteen (15) Honors Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Suma Cum Laude, including the schools from which they graduated. Individuals who showed talent in various fields, particularly the production of Keso Puti, were also recognized.

Senator Francis Tolentino delivered the keynote address and congratulated both the town's leadership and those who received the award.

He also emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals and groups who contribute to the betterment of their community, as it inspires others to do the same and creates a positive impact on society as a whole.

The recognition of individuals in different fields highlights the diverse range of skills and achievements within the community. It is important to celebrate excellence and hard work in all areas, from academic pursuits to specialized trades such as cheese production.

Meanwhile, Gov. Ramil Hernandez and Cong. Ruth Hernandez sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Kesong Puti committee as well as to all the honorees.

Recognizing and appreciating the achievements of individuals and groups within the community can foster a sense of pride and motivate others to strive for excellence in their own pursuits. Such recognition can also help strengthen the bonds within the community and promote a culture of support and encouragement.

Also present at the program were Usec Ferdinand Jumapao, RD Maritess Castro of the DOT, who were among the awardees.
