TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - The Provincial Youth and Sports Development Office headed by Mr. Rodel Vincent Bae, collaborated with Trece Martires City College (TMCC) - College Governance Student Government (COG-SG) in spearheading the leadership training for student-leaders at the Provincial Gymnasium, Trece Martires City on April 25, 2023. The event aims to equip the attendees with necessary knowledge and skills to be successful and effective leaders.
Ms. Clariez A. Mendoza, COG-SG President, commenced the program by recognizing the participants of the event. She, then, remarked that the training would significantly help enhance the students’ leadership abilities and empower them, as they are the future leaders of their community. Hence, she stated, “It is crucial to learn how to live with purpose, vision, and passion.”
Subsequently, Mr. Paul John C. Madrigal, COG-SG Adviser, Dr. Arnulfo F. Perez, TMCC VP for Administration, Dr. Roman M. Salazar, VP for Academic Affairs, gave motivational messages that emphasized the importance of student-leaders and youths in community development. Additionally, they stressed the significance of discipline to become good leader and how being a good follower is the pre-requisite of being good at leading others.
Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs, conveyed that the provincial government will always support all the programs and activities, especially those related to the youth.
Afterwards, Dr. Alex B. Brillante, Jr., Professor Emeritus of UP National College of Public Administration and Governance, presented a lecture on Future Thinkers as Policy Makers, mentioning about changing the mindset towards the vision.
On a similar note, Mr. Amerson R. Aguinaldo, Region IV-A Area Officer of the National Youth Commission, presented the Importance of Youth Involvement in Community Development, based on R.A 8044 or the Youth in Nation-Building Act. During his talk, the participants were asked to find a partner and share their commitment and promises.
Through these talks, attendees were taught how to improve themselves and help them to be competent, smart, disciplined and responsible student-leaders to serve effectively.
In the conclusion of the event, Mr. Kevin Bryan R. Pugay, COG-SG Vice President, extended their utmost appreciation to the speakers for their invaluable contribution to the leadership training, providing the participants with plenty of ideas and vision.
