TERESA, Rizal - The "TERESA UNA KA" cooking competition, which was held at the Sarap Food Festival 2023 Cooking Contest for the Women's Organization of Teresa, Rizal, featured the Local Council of Women-accredited organizations.
The cooking competition aimed to showcase the culinary skills of the women in Teresa, Rizal and promote their local dishes. The event also provided a platform for the women's organizations to network and collaborate with each other.
In coordination with the Teresa Ladies' Association and the Teresa Town Government, the Municipal Tourism Office, the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), and the Gender and Development Program (GAD) hosted a cooking competition.
Here the participants showcased Teresa's proud original dishes using various ingredients (Teresa Ladies Association – Tinolang Macarel, Teresa Zumba Ladies – Tinanak na Dalag, Sitio Ibabaw 2 Fitness Club – Sinigang na Baboy sa Rugo, Delta Squad Reborn Guardians International Incorporated – Sinigang na Sardinas, Child Development Worker – Dulong Crispy Siomai, Association of United Leaders of Pantawid Teresa – Pinugot, We Can Rizaleña – Binatog, Simple Les – Palok, Teresa Women's Club – Pork Adobo, Barangay Nutrition Scholar – Sinampalukang Tilapia, Barangay Health Worker – Lumpiang Papaya, Rural Improvement Club – Tartared Shrimp, Ladies Club Association – Sisig Sardines).
These are some of the food offerings that can be found in the food festival organized by various community organizations in Teresa, Rizal.
Aside from showcasing the diverse culinary traditions of the community, the food festival also serves as a platform for these organizations to raise funds for their respective programs and projects. It's a great opportunity to support local initiatives while enjoying delicious food.
Those who were lucky in the cooking festival received Cash Prizes and Certificates (Best in Presentation – Child Development Worker, Best in Preparation – Teresa Women's Club, 3rd Place – Ladies' Club Association, 2nd Place – Delta Squad Reborn Guardians International Incorporated and 1st Place – Child Development Workers).
